Heidelberg showcased major projects at the EXPO REAL in Munich
From October 7 to 9, 2024, the “Team Heidelberg,” led by First Mayor Jürgen Odszuck and representatives from the department of economic development and conversion companies, presented key urban development projects at the Expo Real real estate fair in Munich. Alongside 17 other cities and regional companies, Heidelberg showcased its innovative strength at the booth of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region through projects like the Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip) and the development of Patrick-Henry-Village (PHV).
The Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip)
The hip, located on the former Patton Barracks site, is emerging as a central hub for technology and science companies, particularly in IT, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and life sciences. At the heart of hip is LAB22, a modern building offering flexible lab and office spaces, providing startups and companies with optimal conditions. The European branch of Biolabs, a U.S. incubator, has already settled here and supports young businesses. Under the motto “work connected,” the hip fosters an inspiring work environment that combines creativity and well-being.
Patrick-Henry-Village, Heidelberg’s largest conversion area
PHV is set to become the “knowledge city of tomorrow” in the coming years, with a focus on sustainability, circular economy, and mobility transition. The urban mining concept sets new standards in building material recycling. Heidelberg’s 16th district is conveniently located between Stuttgart and Frankfurt Airport.
