In recent years, the development of Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip) on Speyerer Strasse has turned a vacant US army site into an innovative campus for the digital and biotech industry.
One of the central projects currently on the hip is LAB22 of the Technology Park (TP) in Nikola-Tesla-Strasse, very near the Business Development Center (BDC). All BDC facilities are let to start-ups and young companies. LAB22 will now provide additional space, particularly for small and medium-sized companies that have outgrown the initial start-up phase and have successfully established themselves on the market.
TP Managing Director Dr. André Domin explains: “The first construction phase of LAB22 is finished and, as of September 27, we are proud to have BioLabs, the world’s leading developer and operator of coworking spaces for the biotech and pharma industry, as one of our tenants.”
While BioLabs Heidelberg provides companies with coworking spaces and fully equipped laboratory workstations, the second tract of LAB22 offers its future tenants unfurnished laboratory and office space for individual configuration. A total of up to nine fully configurable rental units are available on four floors and 3,500 square meters of total space. The individual units range from 160 to 400 square meters. LAB22 will welcome its first tenants starting on the first quarter of 2024, just in time to celebrate TP’s 40th anniversary.
