History

The Heidelberg Innovation Park, or hip for short, is a hotspot for innovations in the fields of IT, digital media and bioinformatics in Heidelberg. The hip was created on the almost 15-hectare site of the US Army, the Patton Barracks, and has been growing ever since to offer a space where ideas are born and creative minds work on solutions for the digital future. The hip was planned and constructed by the development company Patton Barracks (EGP – a joint company of the City of Heidelberg and Sparkasse Heidelberg). The first spaces were already occupied in 2019, opening up interesting options for buyers and tenants.
