Networking events, workshops and after-work activities will offer various opportunities to network on the hip, establish new business relationships or simply decompress after work, have fun, and get to know new faces!

The common area at Palo-Alto-Platz will have cozy seats, urban gardening beds and a beach area, among other features. It is ideal to enjoy a relaxing lunch break or end the day with an after-work barbecue. Further ideas and wishes are always welcome!

Food court SOMER­VILLE

SOMERVILLE will be colorful, diverse and the “living room” at the central square of the hip. The food court will have a sustainable offer from morning until late evening to imbue new life into the Mary-Somerville-Platz.

From fresh coffee and croissants in the morning, lunch and ice cream afterwards to a gourmet dinner, a cocktail or a small cultural event in the evening… the SOMERVILLE will make you feel at home and enjoy being part of the hip everyday.

    Customers also benefit from the synergies between the DC-Datacenter-Group GmbH and its parent company MVV Enamic GmbH, having access to comprehensive and flexible solutions for in the fields of energy and energy efficiency. A service data center will be set up jointly by the partners on the hip campus. The construction is planned to start in the first quarter of 2022 and the commissioning of the service data center in the first quarter of 2023.   • Götz Gramlich was born in Heidelberg in 1974, studied at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and graduated with a degree in communication design. Before founding his studio “gggrafik” in Heidelberg in 2005, he worked as an assistant at Niklaus Troxler/Studio Troxler in Willisau, Switzerland. In addition to many other international and national awards, Gramlich won the renowned Kieler Woche poster competition in 2017. He was a visiting professor at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. Götz Gramlich is a member of the AGI – Alliance Graphique Internationale.

  • Since its foundation in 2010, the Heidelberger Energiegenossenschaft (Heidelberg energy cooperative) has been shaping the transformation to 100% renewable energies in our region. In doing so, it tries to make sustainable energy supply tangible through direct and fair participation as an open producer-consumer community. The Heidelberger Energiegenossenschaft enables low-threshold participation in citizen solar systems, the purchase of green electricity and citizen ecological gas, charging e-vehicles at electric charging stations, development of tenant electricity projects and help with the installation of PV systems. You can become a member of the cooperative by subscribing to a cooperative share worth 100 Euro.
    With the e+KUBATOR project at hip, the Heidelberger Energiegenossenschaft is creating a center for itself and other companies in the field of energy and mobility transition, in which the necessary change towards more sustainability is accelerated. The Smart Meters from Discovergy will be operated from the e+KUBATOR, in addition to the PV systems and charging stations of the Heidelberger Energiegenossenschaft. Furthermore, e+KUBATOR will host coworking areas from Breidenbach, develop the electric bicycles from Coboc, and organize the supply of green electricity from the Bürgerwerke to all of Germany. The Heidelberger Energiegenossenschaft is creating with the e+KUBATOR a real laboratory in which it and its partners showcase future technologies and make them tangible.

  • infotectures is a digital design studio from Heidelberg devoted to transforming complex topics into exciting experiences. The small team around founder Ronald The supports its customers in the areas of storytelling and UX design. Since infotectures was founded in 2005, it has grown to encompass a broad network of specialists who come together for each project to bring to the table the best possible expertise in the areas of UX consulting, media production and development.

  • At Palo-Alto-Platz 13 / Margot-Becke-Ring 8, a total of approx. 5,500 m² of attractive, light-flooded office space for innovative companies in the fields of IT, digital media and bioinformatics is being created in the iWerkx®. It allows for flexible floor plans in rental areas of approx. 180 – 820 m² per floor. The balconies and gallery area on the top floor offer attractive work opportunities and meeting points. On the 1st and 2nd floors, the area can be expanded by approx. 270 m² in the annex, connected by an attractive, bright office with a view of the inner courtyard and Palo-Alto-Platz. The annex has a private rooftop terrace on the 3rd floor and, on request, a private roof garden area with approx. 40 m² on the 1st floor. The hip motto “work connected” was also taken into account in the well-thought-out planning, in addition to the work-life balance, –an absolute plus when recruiting your employees. The heart of the iWerkx® is the approx. 280 m², green roof garden on the 1st floor. Located in the protected outdoor area above the inner courtyard between the existing building and the annex, our tenants can work “outdoors”, take a creative break, chill out after work and network with other residents. The roof garden will also have a kiosk with snacks and drinks. The tenants can also look after their health with the fitness and relaxing rooms with showers and toilets situated in the basement. Private trainers are also available. Valuable bicycles and e-bikes can be conveniently parked in the secure bicycle cellar using the ramp on the outside staircase. The excellent equipment of the iWerkx® includes real wood industrial parquet, an LED lighting concept, fiber optic high-speed internet connection, air conditioning, ventilation, district heating, tenant electricity partly via PV modules on the roof, parking spaces for cars and bicycles directly at the building, partly with e-charging stations and lifts.
